Job Description
Processing Supervisor
Reporting to the Processing Manager, supervise the day-to-day activities of the workforce in a food processing facility. Ensure that machinery and equipment are calibrated and functioning properly. Train employees on work methods and standard operating procedures. Move employees to the work as needed to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day supervision of processing line employees during scheduled shifts
Train, schedule and assess performance, including appraisals and disciplinary action
Responsible for successful pre- and post-operational inspections
Interpret company policies to plant personnel and enforce safety regulations
Play a key role in customer audits and assist in maintaining appropriate documentation
Monitor inventory and ensure proper rotation
Work with Quality to ensure product safety
Assist at other facilities as needed
Supervise disassembly, cleaning, sanitizing and reassembly of processing equipment
Supervise shipping and dock responsibilities
Enforce safety programs, complete incident reports and follow proper retraining procedures
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Business, Production Management or a related field
3–5 years of experience in food processing and sanitation or related experience and/or equivalent education
