Auto Driveaway Systems is one of the largest professional driveaway companies in the US, and we're hiring a Dispatcher for our Elkhart, IN office. Our drivers move vehicles from coast to coast, sometimes hundreds each week. As a Dispatcher, you're their home base. You assign trips, keep drivers on track, and help them solve problems on the road, like finding a delivery location that doesn't show up on a map, walking a driver through a customer's pickup instructions, or adjusting a plan when something changes.

If you've spent your days on the phone routing HVAC techs, scheduling plumbing or carpet cleaning crews, dispatching tow trucks, or handling 911 or emergency calls, you already know how this job works. Only the vehicles are different.

What You'll Do

• Spend most of your day on the phone with drivers, answering calls and emails and keeping trips moving
• Assign drivers to trips and plan routes that get vehicles picked up and delivered on time
• Solve problems in real time, like tracking down hard-to-find addresses, clarifying instructions, or rerouting after a delay
• Stay in touch with drivers from pickup to delivery so nothing falls through the cracks
• Give regular status updates to customers, sales, and internal teams
• Work with our field offices and management to plan efficient trips and cut down on empty miles
• Support driver safety and compliance, including hours of service rules (we'll train you)
• Share weekend on-call coverage by phone with the dispatch team

What You Bring

• 1+ year of experience dispatching, scheduling, or coordinating people in the field by phone
• Comfort managing a high volume of calls, including with people who are frustrated, lost, or in a hurry
• Strong common sense and the ability to solve problems without a script
• The ability to juggle several moving pieces at once and keep track of addresses, times, and details
• Clear communication on the phone and in writing
• Comfort with email, Microsoft Office, and dispatch or scheduling software (Excel is a plus)
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required

Experience that fits well: service dispatcher or scheduler for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpet cleaning, pest control, or restoration companies; 911 or emergency dispatch; tow, courier, or delivery dispatch; field service coordination; transportation or freight dispatch.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, in our Elkhart office. Weekend on-call is is a shared team responsibility.
