Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Programming & Process Improvement

About Avers: Avers Inc. is an AS9100-certified precision manufacturer serving aerospace and medical customers. We specialize in CNC turning, milling, gear cutting, gear rack cutting, OD grinding, and thread grinding. We're growing, investing in new equipment and automation, and looking for a hands-on engineer to grow with us.

The Role You'll help launch and optimize our new CNC turning, machining, grinding, gear cutting, and rack cutting operations. You'll split your time between the computer and the shop floor, working directly with machinists to make parts better, faster, and more consistently. A major focus will be using AI tools and automation to improve efficiency across the shop. Training on all platforms is provided.

What You'll Do

  • Program CNC turning, milling, and grinding operations in Mastercam
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and work holding in SolidWorks
  • Support setup, integration, and interfacing of robotic and automated cells
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements in cycle time, setups, scrap, and throughput
  • Apply AI tools to programming, process planning, documentation, and data analysis
  • Create routings, work instructions, and process documentation in our ERP (M1)
  • Support new part introductions and first-article runs
  • Troubleshoot production issues alongside machinists and quality staff

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related)
  • SolidWorks experience required
  • Mastercam, CNC, or machine shop experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to read engineering drawings; familiarity with GD&T is a plus
  • Interest in automation, robotics, and practical use of AI tools
  • Hands-on mindset, comfortable on the shop floor
  • Curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. person)

Why Avers

  • Full training on Mastercam, our CNC equipment, robotics, and M1
  • Direct exposure to aerospace and medical precision manufacturing
  • Real ownership of projects at a growing company, with no bureaucracy
  • Opportunity to shape a new operation from the ground up
