Material Handler: Rockford, Illinois
Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re hiring full-timeMaterial Handlersfor 1st shift. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient flow of materials throughout the facility, supporting production, shipping, and inventory management. Applicants must have a valid drivers license and ability to obtain a Class C license.
Responsibilities of the Material Handler:
- Transport raw materials, components, and finished products between workstations, departments, and storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or carts.
- Load and unload trucks or containers as needed.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials during handling and storage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory systems (ERP/WMS).
- Ensure materials are stored in designated locations and organized to prevent damage or contamination.
- Support production lines by ensuring timely delivery of required materials.
- Assist the Shipping team by processing inbound and outbound orders.
- Support the Store Clerk with material distribution or inventory processing
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Material Handler Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class C license.
- 1–2 years of material handling experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Average computer literacy, including using scanners and inventory systems.
- Ability to use measuring instruments (micrometer, calipers, gauges) and required hand tools.
- Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Pay for Material Handler:$18-$23/hour.
