Production Manager – Thermoforming Operations

JOB SUMMARY

Solid Solutions USA working with a client who is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the production operation at their Irving facility. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee all day-to-day manufacturing activity across every shift, directing department and shift leads, press operators, material handlers, maintenance, and tooling teams. You will build a results-driven culture centered on safety, quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Run daily manufacturing operations for a thermoformed plastic products facility, ensuring production schedules meet customer demand and delivery commitments

•Manage the full employee lifecycle: selection, training, evaluation, and discipline

•Track production and quality metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements

•Partner with Purchasing, the Site Manager, and Quality to align material requirements, maintenance plans, and corrective actions

•Coordinate production materials, packaging, and waste handling

•Champion the plant safety program and maintain a clean, safe work environment

QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor's degree, preferably in Plastics Engineering, Production Management, or another engineering discipline

•Hands-on experience in thermoforming operations and processing

•Proven people management experience, with the ability to build strong teams and work effectively at all levels of the organization

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving manufacturing issues and disruptions

•Quality Management System experience

•Ability to identify improvement opportunities, present solutions to senior management, and report on results and potential shortfalls

•Independent, deadline-driven, and skilled at prioritizing and planning work for others

•Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email

•Fluent in English (written and verbal); Spanish bilingual a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

•Plant setting with noise levels above 90 dB and some dust; PPE is provided

•Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs

•Frequent local and international travel, including overnight, plus occasional evening or weekend work

•Fast-paced role with regular deadlines, interruptions, and high-impact decision-making
