KR Construction Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction turnover through final closeout. We build commercial, government, and industrial projects, and we need a PM who takes ownership of the schedule, budget, subcontractor coordination, and client relationship.
You will work closely with our Site Superintendents and project teams to solve problems early, communicate clearly, and deliver quality work. Our approach is straightforward: Do It Like It's Your Dollar.
What you will do
- Take ownership of assigned projects from turnover through closeout, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, and client communication.
- Work with the Site Superintendent to plan work, coordinate subcontractors, resolve field issues, and keep projects moving.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in Microsoft Project; identify delays early and lead recovery efforts.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, contracts, commitments, and performance.
- Track project costs, forecasts, change orders, and owner billings; identify financial risks and protect project margin.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and project documentation in Procore.
- Communicate regularly with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and KRCG leadership. Raise concerns promptly and bring proposed solutions.
- Support safety and quality expectations through regular site visits and coordination with the field team.
- Drive punch lists, turnover documents, final billing, and project closeout.
What you bring
- At least five years of project management experience with a commercial general contractor, with direct responsibility for project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communication.
- A record of successfully delivering commercial building projects from construction through closeout.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, change management, and cost control.
- Experience using Procore or a comparable construction project management platform.
- Ability to build and manage schedules in Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and a willingness to take ownership when issues arise.
- Ability to work from our Colorado Springs office and travel to project sites as needed; anticipated travel is approximately 25%.
Experience with government or industrial projects, design-build delivery, Bluebeam, and multiple concurrent projects is a plus.
At KR Construction Group, our core values are Communicate, Collaborate, Cultivate, and Conquer. We are looking for someone who lives those values in how they lead a project and serve a client.
