THRYVE of Burbank is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Director to oversee the facility’s housekeeping operations and ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and experience maintaining cleanliness standards in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
- Develop and maintain cleaning schedules for resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces.
- Ensure the facility maintains high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure quality performance.
- Monitor staff attendance, productivity, and adherence to department policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all areas of the facility meet established cleanliness standards.
- Ensure housekeeping practices comply with applicable healthcare regulations and infection prevention guidelines.
- Maintain adequate supplies and equipment and monitor inventory to control costs.
- Coordinate with facility leadership and other departments to address housekeeping needs and concerns.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and used safely.
- Respond promptly to housekeeping requests, spills, and other urgent cleaning needs.
- Maintain accurate department records, schedules, and supply inventories.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure staff follow proper safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience required.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and infection control practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and supervise department staff.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
