JOB DESCRIPTION
ASAP Personnel is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team!
This position will focus on collecting outstanding balances from apartment communities and property management companies, maintaining professional client relationships, and ensuring timely payments on overdue accounts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections, excellent communication skills, and the ability to resolve outstanding balances professionally and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contact apartment communities and property management companies regarding outstanding invoices and overdue balances.
Follow up on past-due accounts through phone calls and emails.
Negotiate payment arrangements and work toward resolving outstanding balances.
Maintain accurate records of collection activities, payment commitments, and account statuses.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies or payment disputes.
Communicate with internal departments regarding outstanding accounts.
Prepare collection reports and provide regular updates on overdue balances.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients while ensuring timely payments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years of professional collections experience required.
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing past-due accounts and payment arrangements.
Comfortable making collection calls and following up consistently.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
Previous experience in the apartment or property management industry is a major plus.
Familiarity with apartment industry billing and payment processes.
Experience with accounts receivable or commercial collections.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
