Electrical Controls Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and implementing industrial automation and control systems.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk View, PowerFlex drives, and Kinetix servo systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, wiring, and commissioning procedures.
• Knowledge of UL508A, NEC, NFPA standards, along with electrical calculations and component sizing.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical is preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial networking, motion control, and safety systems.
• Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects from initial concept through startup, ensuring schedule, budget, and customer requirements are met.
• Design and develop electrical control systems, including PLC programs, HMI applications, and safety systems.
• Configure and troubleshoot automation hardware including servo drives, PowerFlex drives, and related systems.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using CAD tools.
• Perform electrical design calculations such as conductor sizing, circuit protection, and power distribution.
