Document Control Specialist
Our client is seeking a Document Control Specialist who thrives on accuracy and enjoys keeping complex technical information organized and accessible. The ideal candidate is a sharp problem solver with a keen eye for detail and the curiosity to pick up new software quickly. Success in this role comes from clear communication and dependable follow-through with engineers, designers, and field teams.

This 6- month contract role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.

Document Control Specialist Responsibilities

  • Issue and distribute construction packages and as-built drawing sets on time, confirming each one is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain the electronic drawing management system, keeping drawing records, revision data, and life-cycle statuses current.
  • Review drawings for discrepancies and work with engineers and designers to resolve them.
  • Scan, index, and archive records and equipment documentation, checking quality and following established procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and outside consultants on drawing check-outs and check-ins, and support colleagues with records training and process improvements.

Document Control Specialist Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of experience in document control, records management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electronic document management systems, with experience in Autodesk Vault and QuickBase strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), SharePoint, and database tools, along with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills. Utilities experience is not required.

Compensation: Up to $30.65/hr. (DOE)
