Job Description

Smith-Kitsmiller Insurance Agency is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team!

We are an established, locally owned independent insurance agency with over 40 years of service to our community. We take pride in building lasting relationships with our customers and providing exceptional personal service.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is organized, pays attention to detail, and wants to build a long-term career in a professional office environment.

Previous insurance experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person!

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions and requests.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service in person, over the phone, and by email.
• Assist customers with policy changes, renewals, billing questions, and general insurance inquiries.
• Process paperwork, maintain accurate customer records, and perform data entry.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding customer accounts.
• Support other team members with daily office operations.
• Help maintain positive relationships with existing customers.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, professional, and positive attitude.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computers, email, and office software.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn.
• Previous office, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
• Insurance industry experience is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to obtain a Michigan insurance license if needed, with agency assistance.
