About the Role:
State Brass Foundry is looking for a skilled Grinder to join our team in Tooele, UT! This is a hands-on opportunity to work in a dynamic foundry environment where precision and craftsmanship are at the heart of everything we do. Responsibilities:
- Operate grinding equipment to finish and smooth cast components to specification
- Inspect finished parts for defects, burrs, and surface imperfections
- Use hand grinders, bench grinders, and related abrasive tools safely and efficiently
- Remove excess material, gates, and risers from castings post-pour
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with safety standards
- Monitor tooling and equipment, reporting wear or maintenance needs to supervisors
- Meet daily production quotas while maintaining quality control standards
Requirements:
- Prior experience in foundry, metal fabrication, or grinding operations preferred
- Ability to operate angle grinders, pedestal grinders, and pneumatic tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and foundry safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a loud, dusty industrial environment
- High school diploma or GED preferred
