We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a range of client accounts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing core accounting work with smarter, more efficient ways of getting things done through technology and automation. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day financial activities, help keep reporting on schedule, and contribute to a high standard of client service across multiple engagements.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of client businesses, ensuring financial records remain accurate, current, and well organized.
• Handle essential accounting functions such as accounts payable, account reconciliations, ledger upkeep, and payroll-related support activities.
• Prepare and submit annual 1099 documentation while maintaining compliance with reporting deadlines and requirements.
• Assist clients with payroll coordination and selected human resources administrative tasks tied to routine business operations.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures to support timely and reliable financial reporting.
• Compile adjusted trial balances and assemble draft financial statements for internal review and client use.
• Provide administrative support for tax engagements by gathering records, organizing documentation, and assisting with filing-related processes.
• Maintain structured digital documentation so financial data and supporting records are easy to access and review.
• Recommend and apply process enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery through the use of technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
• Work closely with colleagues to meet client deadlines, resolve issues promptly, and deliver accurate, high-quality results.• At least 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, client accounting services, or a public accounting environment.
• Proven ability to oversee accounting activities for more than one business or client engagement is strongly preferred.
• Solid working knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping, including close processes at month-end and year-end.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks is required; a QuickBooks ProAdvisor credential would be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with payroll support, 1099 preparation, and small business accounting operations.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and similar office and financial software tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and client-facing skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement and in using technology, automation, and AI to enhance accounting workflows.
