General Laborer

Job Description

Join our team as a General Laborer on the Landscaping Team at a college campus. This full-time position, scheduled Monday to Friday during the day shift, offers an opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to the maintenance of campus grounds. You will be part of a team dedicated to ensuring the campus remains beautiful and safe for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Remove weeds, leaves, and other debris from landscaped areas.
• Assist with mulching, pruning, and seasonal landscaping projects.
• Pick up trash and maintain clean outdoor spaces.
• Help with snow removal and ice control during winter months, as needed.
• Assist the grounds crew with campus beautification projects.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous landscaping or outdoor labor experience preferred, but not required.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.

Work Environment

The work environment involves outdoor labor, requiring frequent lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and walking in various weather conditions such as hot, cold, wet, and windy. Employees are expected to use landscaping tools and equipment safely and follow all safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
