Fred’s Plumbing is exploring experienced operating leaders to help lead and grow its business in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We are looking for a hands-on, people-first executive with a background in the skilled trades and experience managing teams of approximately 20 to 50 employees. This is an opportunity for an experienced General Manager, Director of Operations, or similar leader who understands the demands of a service-based trades business and knows how to build strong teams, improve operational performance, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Our ideal candidate brings a combination of business acumen, operational expertise, and a genuine understanding of the trades. Experience in commercial plumbing, multifamily plumbing service, or a related mechanical services business is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily business operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and high-quality work.
• Lead, develop, and support a team of approximately 20 to 50 employees.
• Establish operational priorities, performance expectations, and processes that support business growth.
• Manage workforce planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and service operations.
• Monitor business performance, operational metrics, budgets, and profitability.
• Build strong relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement strategies to scale the business while maintaining service quality and company culture.
• Partner with leadership to establish and execute short-term and long-term business goals.
• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a General Manager, Director of Operations, VP of Operations, or comparable operating leadership role.
• Experience in the skilled trades, construction, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical services, or a related industry.
• Demonstrated success leading teams of approximately 20 to 50 employees.
• Strong understanding of service-based business operations and workforce management.
• Experience managing budgets, operational performance, and business objectives.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership.
• Must be based in or able to work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial plumbing service operations.
• Background in multifamily plumbing, commercial mechanical services, or emergency service operations.
• Experience overseeing field technicians, service managers, dispatch, or administrative support teams.
• Demonstrated success improving profitability, scaling operations, and developing future leaders.
• Experience with operational systems, service management software, and performance tracking.

Compensation

Annual base salary of $125,000-$175,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation or incentives may be discussed based on the candidate's background and the scope of the role.
