The Lee Group is hiringBlastersfor a manufacturing client inToano, VA!In this role, you will operate abrasive blasting equipment, load and inspect parts, and ensure production runs are completed safely and efficiently. We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals with mechanical aptitude who can work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous machine operation experience is preferred but not required!
Job Responsibilities ofaBlaster
- Load abrasive blasting machines with the required parts according to production specifications.
- Operate blasting machinery safely and efficiently while following established procedures.
- Prioritize production runs according to the manufacturing schedule.
- Coordinate with downstream production team members to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Perform quality checks to verify that each step of the required workflow has been completed.
- Inspect part numbers to ensure the correct parts are being processed.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Follow all established safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job QualificationsofaBlaster
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to regularly lift and move 50-60 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
- Ability to stand and remain on your feet for 8-10 hours per day.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to follow production schedules and prioritize assigned tasks.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements ofaBlaster
- Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- May be exposed to noise, dust, machinery, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, typically 8-10 hours per day.
- Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and move parts weighing 50-60 pounds.
- Position may require frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movements.
- Must follow all workplace safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
