Responsibilities:
The Sr. Financial Analystwill be responsible for the accurate and timely analysis of divisional financial statements and their comparison to budget and estimates. May also handle monthly performance reporting, forecasting requirements, and special projects.
- Develop systems and processes to report KPIs to operations and management in support of business strategies.
- Analyze and prepare rolling forecasts and annual budgets across multiple lines of business and locations.
- Perform monthly financial analysis, including actual-to-forecast and trend variance analysis, gross margin review of third-party and intercompany sales, and operating margin review.
- Coordinate and oversee accurate revenue recognition through percentage-of-completion (POC).
- Identify and implement process improvements across finance and operations.
- Assist with internal and external annual audits.
- Ensure the integrity of internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements, company policies, and procedures.
- Build, analyze, and troubleshoot financial models; automate and improve reporting processes using tools such as Power Query, SQL, Snowflake, Sigma, and/or Alteryx.
- Analyze and present P&L results and strategic financial insights to management.
- Handle monthly performance reporting, forecasting requirements, and special projects as assigned.
Location:Houston, TX
Schedule/Shift Details:8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH
NO TRAVEL REQUIRED.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant financial analysis, FP&A, or accounting experience.
- At least 2 years in prior roles, demonstrating stability and consistent tenure.
- Strong understanding of FP&A principles, terminology, and strategic financial analysis.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP.
- Experience analyzing and presenting P&L results and complex financial operations.
- Proven ability to manage a broad business scope and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
- Strong hands-on experience building financial models with Power Query (top technical priority).
- Ability to write SQL code; experience with Snowflake, Sigma, and Alteryx strongly preferred.
- Business intelligence competency with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Hyperion Financial Management and/or Oracle experience preferred.
- CMA, MBA, or CPA preferred.
