Job Description

Automotive Service Advisor

Quality Subaru | Wallingford, CT | Full Time, On Site | $50,000 to $80,000 per year (base + performance bonus)

Service Advisors connect our customers with our technicians. You'll check customers in, explain what their Subaru needs and what it costs, keep them updated while the work is done, and walk them through the invoice at pickup. If you have strong customer service skills and a basic interest in cars, we'll train you on Subaru maintenance, warranty, and our systems. Service advisor experience is a plus but not required.

Pay and benefits

• $50,000 to $80,000 per year, base pay plus performance bonuses, based on experience

• Paid training on Subaru maintenance, warranty, and our service systems

• Health and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k)

• Room to advance within the service department

• A single-point, family-oriented store: one rooftop, one team, and managers who know your name

What you'll do

• Check customers in at the service drive, listen to their concerns, and write accurate repair orders

• Recommend maintenance based on Subaru's service schedule and the technician's findings

• Give clear estimates and get customer approval before additional work

• Update customers by phone and text from drop-off to pickup

• Coordinate with technicians and the parts department to keep jobs on schedule

• Book appointments and manage the day's flow through the drive

• Review completed work and invoices with customers at pickup, and follow up after the visit

Requirements

• Customer service experience in a service drive, retail, hospitality, or similar setting

• Clear communication in person and on the phone

• Able to manage several customers at once without losing track of details

• Comfortable with computers and learning new software

• Valid driver's license

Nice to have

• Basic automotive knowledge

• Dealership service experience or experience with a dealer management system (DMS)
