Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, assisting with month-end close activities in a multi-company environment. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with approximately two years of experience who is looking to build technical accounting skills and contribute to the long term financial growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain automobile loan portfolio.
- Execute banking transactions as needed.
- Record intercompany transactions.
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Approximately 2 years of accounting experience.
- Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA candidate or progress toward CPA certification.
- Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite and Quickbooks.
- Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes.
