Position Overview

Seattle Search Group is partnering with an established Seattle-area technology organization to hire a Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity.

This position will support both Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and General Ledger accounting, including accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, month-end close, and financial reporting support.

The role will also participate in an ERP transition from IFS to NetSuite, including data validation, testing, cutover activities, and post-implementation transaction processing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant with strong fundamentals who wants broader exposure to GL accounting, financial systems, and a growing SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process supplier invoices and supporting accounting documentation.
  • Perform purchase-order matching and resolve routine exceptions.
  • Support vendor onboarding and maintain vendor master data.
  • Prepare payment-batch documentation and supporting materials.
  • Prepare accounts payable and vendor statement reconciliations.
  • Review and record employee expense transactions.
  • Prepare accruals, prepaid schedules, and related journal entries.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare routine general ledger journal entries.
  • Support fixed-asset additions, disposals, and capitalized-cost accounting.
  • Assist with payroll journal entries and clearing-account reconciliations.
  • Complete assigned month-end close responsibilities according to established deadlines.
  • Support accounting for intercompany transactions, cost of sales, and software development capitalization.
  • Research accounting discrepancies and document findings.
  • Prepare account detail, schedules, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
  • Prepare workpapers and documentation for annual audits.
  • Partner with other departments to obtain transaction support and resolve accounting questions.
  • Maintain accounting documentation and assist with process improvements.
ERP & Systems Responsibilities
  • Support the organization's transition from IFS to NetSuite.
  • Assist with ERP data validation, system testing, and transaction processing.
  • Participate in cutover and post-go-live activities.
  • Perform transactional data cleanup.
  • Maintain and improve process documentation and desk procedures.
  • Identify recurring transaction issues and recommend practical improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with procure-to-pay, accounts payable, or general ledger accounting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Experience with an ERP or financial accounting system.
  • NetSuite or IFS experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, PivotTables, and basic data analysis.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage recurring accounting and close deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Finance and other departments.
Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will have a solid accounting foundation and some combination of accounts payable, procure-to-pay, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close experience.

We're particularly interested in someone who wants to expand beyond transactional accounting and gain broader exposure to GL accounting, financial reporting, ERP systems, and process improvement.

Experience working in a technology, software, or SaaS environment is helpful.
