SHIPPING-RECEIVING-STOCKROOM CLERK

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented person to be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of incoming and outgoing shipments as well as stockroom inventory control. This role ensures accurate documentation, timely deliveries, timely receipts, and proper handling of goods to maintain inventory integrity and support smooth logistical operations. This position requires strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to thrive in a fastpaced manufacturing environment. The employee will cross-train with others in the same role as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory using the company ERP system
  • Coordinate with carriers and vendors for pickups, deliveries, and freight scheduling
  • Submit foreign shipment documentation on the U.S. Customs portal
  • Organize and store received items in designated stockroom locations
  • Stockroom control: allocate inventory to proper departments, maintaining proper documentation of transactions
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies, damages, or low stock
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, shipping laws, and company policies
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Customer Service, Accounting) both in person and electronically

Each clerk may spend most of their time in a certain area (shipping or receiving or stockroom) but is also expected to work together with others and be cross-trained to perform all duties if needed. Each clerk is expected to assist the other(s) after his/her main tasks are completed.

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Good computer skills required. Email, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  • Experience with a computerized ERP system such as Odoo, NetSuite, Sage, etc.
  • 2+ Years Shipping/Receiving experience in a manufacturing environment, including use of freight company portals and U.S. Customs portal, is preferred
