Cable Technician

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Outsource is seeking experienced Cable Technicians (Tech 2 and Tech 3 levels) to join our team supporting projects throughout Idaho and surrounding regions. This role requires 3-5 years of hands-on cable installation and troubleshooting experience, along with the flexibility to travel for assignments lasting up to three weeks at a time. We are looking for dependable professionals ready to work on structured cabling and network infrastructure projects in a variety of field environments.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling including copper and fiber optic systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to guide installation work
• Troubleshoot and repair cabling issues to ensure optimal network performance
• Label, organize, and document cable runs in accordance with industry standards
• Coordinate with project leads and other technicians to meet installation timelines
• Perform quality control checks and testing using cable certification tools
• Travel to various job sites for extended assignments up to three weeks at a time

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Cable Technician or in a similar structured cabling role
• Proficiency with copper and fiber optic cable installation and termination
• Working knowledge of cable testing equipment and certification processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders or lifts as needed
• Willingness and ability to travel for multi-week assignments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fast-paced environments

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay range of $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and project requirements
