Cohen Recycling is seeking a dependable, hardworking Material Processor to join our first-shift team in Middletown, Ohio at our Cubra Facility.
This is a hands-on industrial position involving the sorting, identification, handling, and processing of recyclable metals and materials. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
We believe in setting clear expectations from the beginning. This position involves physically demanding work, exposure to dirty industrial conditions, and the required use of a full-face respirator during designated production activities.
No previous recycling experience is necessary. We provide training and are looking for individuals who are dependable, willing to learn, and take pride in contributing to a hardworking team.
What to Expect in This PositionPlease review the following information carefully before applying.
This is an active industrial processing position, not a clean-environment or light-duty warehouse job. We want candidates to fully understand the working conditions and initial training expectations before joining our team.
Initial Training Period
New employees begin with an introductory training period that typically lasts approximately 60 days. During this time, responsibilities primarily include general housekeeping, sweeping, cleaning, material handling assistance, and other support tasks while completing required safety and respiratory protection training.
These initial responsibilities are an important part of learning our operation, understanding workplace hazards, and preparing to safely transition into production duties.
Respirator Requirements
Following successful completion of applicable training and qualification requirements, employees transition into production responsibilities that require wearing a full-face respirator for extended periods, potentially throughout the production workday.
Employees must complete all applicable respiratory protection requirements under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, including a medical evaluation, fit testing, and required training before performing respirator-required work.
Cohen Recycling provides required respiratory protection equipment and training in accordance with applicable safety standards.
Physical Working Conditions
Employees should expect physically demanding work in an industrial environment that involves dirt, dust, varying temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions.
This is a position where employees can expect to become dirty during their normal workday. The work requires consistent physical activity, attention to safety, and the ability to maintain productivity throughout assigned shifts.
Teamwork and Accountability
Our production team relies on every member to contribute, follow safety procedures, and maintain consistent work performance. Employees are expected to demonstrate dependability, take direction, remain productive, and support their coworkers.
We value individuals who take ownership of their responsibilities and understand that their performance directly impacts the safety and success of the entire team.
