This role focuses on executing system-level software verification activities for a regulated medical device platform. The software test engineer writes and executes formal test scripts, installs and validates software builds on target hardware, performs verification testing, and generates compliant verification documentation for Design History File (DHF) records. Approximately 70% of the role involves hands-on test execution, while about 30% centers on technical documentation and verification reporting. The position requires independently authoring test protocols, executing formal verification activities, and producing audit-ready documentation within a regulated product development environment. The role offers the opportunity to work on software used in critical patient-care environments, directly impacting quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, while gaining exposure to the full verification lifecycle and FDA-regulated development practices.
ResponsibilitiesThe role is based in an onsite laboratory and testing environment, providing hands-on interaction with embedded hardware and software systems. You will work with ALM and DOORS tools to manage requirements, test cases, and traceability, and you will interact closely with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams throughout the verification lifecycle. The environment emphasizes regulated product development practices, DHF compliance, and audit readiness, offering visibility across multiple technical and compliance functions while contributing to the safety and reliability of a medical device platform.
