Overview
Southeast Restoration Group (SRG), a faith-based company, is seeking a driven and business-minded Operations Manager to provide immediate leadership to our Production Department while developing toward broader operational responsibility within the location.
This is not a traditional Production Manager position. We are looking for an experienced restoration or construction leader who combines strong industry knowledge with sharp business acumen, financial discipline, and the ability to develop people. Initially, this leader will oversee the day-to-day performance of the Production Department, ensuring projects move efficiently from turnover through completion and closeout without disrupting operational momentum.
Working closely with the General Manager, the Operations Manager will serve as a trusted operational partner while learning the broader business and preparing to assume expanded leadership responsibilities as the organization grows. The right person will be driven, coachable, committed to our core values, and ready to earn greater responsibility through consistent performance and results.
Your Impact: Key Responsibilities
- Production Leadership: Provide immediate leadership and oversight to the Production Department. Set clear expectations, establish priorities, and hold Project Managers and supporting team members accountable for the daily actions required to complete and close projects successfully.
- Project Performance & Execution: Oversee restoration and reconstruction projects from turnover through completion, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company standards and client expectations.
- Financial & P&L Management: Maintain a strong understanding of departmental financial performance, including revenue, gross profit, Work in Progress (WIP), job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and overall profitability. Use financial data to identify risks, guide decisions, and improve results.
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with the General Manager as a trusted operational partner. Assist with business planning, budgeting, staffing strategies, performance management, and the development of scalable processes that support continued growth.
- Team Leadership & Development: Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers and other Production team members. Identify strengths, address performance gaps, and prepare emerging leaders to take on increased responsibility.
- Accountability & Performance Management: Establish measurable goals and scorecards for the Production Department. Conduct consistent reviews of revenue, gross profit, project timelines, file completion targets, and individual performance.
- Work in Progress Oversight: Maintain an accurate understanding of active projects, expected completion dates, anticipated job costs, and potential obstacles. Ensure the team has a clear plan for advancing and closing projects while protecting profitability.
- Resource Management: Oversee the strategic use of internal team members, Trade Partners, vendors, and other operational resources. Ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation based on project volume, complexity, and organizational priorities.
- Trade Partner & Vendor Management: Build and maintain a reliable network of qualified Trade Partners and vendors. Support recruiting, onboarding, utilization, performance evaluation, and quality control to ensure outside resources meet SRG standards.
- Quality & Client Experience: Set clear expectations for project quality, documentation, communication, and client care. Support the team in proactively managing expectations and resolving concerns with professionalism, urgency, and compassion.
- Issue Resolution: Serve as an escalation point for complex project, client, Trade Partner, or operational concerns. Identify root causes, make sound decisions, and ensure resolutions are thoroughly documented and communicated.
- Systems & Documentation: Model excellence in the use of operational systems such as PSA, Xactimate, XactAnalysis, and Concur. Ensure job files, estimates, contracts, change orders, invoices, and project documentation are complete, accurate, and timely.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, accountability, communication, client experience, and financial performance.
- Leadership Growth: Develop a thorough understanding of the location’s broader operations and demonstrate readiness for expanded leadership responsibilities based on business needs, individual performance, and organizational growth.
- Talent Acquisition & Hiring: Partner with the General Manager and Talent Acquisition to identify staffing needs, interview candidates, assess talent, and make sound hiring decisions for Production roles that align with operational needs, performance expectations, and SRG’s core values.
