Its mission is to empower and inspire credit unions in the Carolinas through collaboration and philanthropic leadership.

Position Summary

The Programs & Accounts Payable Administrator is a remote part-time position (10–15 hours per week) responsible for the accurate, timely processing of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s payables and grant disbursements, along with administrative support for the Friends of the Foundation membership program and Foundation events. Reporting to the Vice President of Programs & Community Impact, this role helps ensure that every dollar entrusted to the Foundation, whether from donors, fund holders, or members, is tracked, disbursed, and documented with care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and motivated by the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

  • Prepare and issue award letters and disbursements for community grants, scholarships, fund holder grants, and disaster relief grants, confirming proper authorization and documentation before payment.
  • Code transactions to the correct funds, programs, and general ledger accounts, with particular attention to restricted and designated funds.

Grants & Fund Administration

  • Work with the VP of Programs & Community Impact to track active grant cycles, including community grants, Vizo Financial Empowerment Grants, small credit union grants, and disaster relief grants, maintaining records of applications, awards, payment schedules, and reporting deadlines.
  • Support scholarship administration, including verifying recipients and issuing payments to educational institutions. Respond to inquiries from schools and scholarship awardees regarding payments.
  • Assist the VP in providing accurate activity and balance reporting to credit unions with charitable giving and scholarship funds under Foundation management.
  • Maintain complete, organized records in the Foundation’s grants management and financial systems.

Friends of the Foundation Membership Program

  • Process new memberships and renewals, record payments, and maintain accurate member records in the Foundation’s donor database.
  • Reconcile membership revenue with financial records and prepare regular membership reports on growth, retention, and revenue.
  • Assist with Friends of the Foundation communications in coordination with Foundation staff.

General Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized electronic filing systems and handle financial, donor, and recipient information with strict confidentiality. Manage donor recognition responsibilities year-round.
  • Assist the VP with reports, board materials, and data requests related to grants, disbursements, and membership.
  • Assist Foundation staff with event registrations, supply organization and planning as needed.
  • Provide social media support to the Foundation’s team as needed.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Hours may increase during peak periods, such as grant and scholarship award cycles, year-end, and disaster response.
  • Remote position in North or South Carolina; must have reliable internet access and be available for regular virtual check-ins with the VP during business hours. Time in the Salisbury office will be required periodically. Office space would be available in Salisbury, NC if needed.
