About Valkyrie
Your zip code shouldn’t determine your health outcomes. In rural America, it still does.
Valkyrie UAS Solutions flies long-range autonomous drone routes between hospitals and pharmacies, carrying pharmaceuticals, blood products, and medical supplies to rural communities that need them.
The role
We’re hiring founding pilots at our Lubbock hub. You’ll fly scheduled medical delivery routes and help build the operation as it grows: the procedures, the routes, and the standards. You’ll write the route book while you fly it.
What you’ll do
Serve as Remote Pilot in Command on scheduled delivery missions, including beyond-visual-line-of-sight routes
Plan missions, assess risk, airspace, and weather, and make go/no-go decisions
Monitor aircraft in flight and carry out contingency and emergency procedures
Manage airspace authorizations, including LAANC and NOTAMs
Perform and document pre-flight and post-flight inspections and maintenance checks
Handle temperature-sensitive medical cargo using chain-of-custody procedures
Keep accurate flight logs and timekeeping records
Turn what you learn into written procedures, and help train the pilots who join after you
Required
Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
3+ years flying commercially or in military UAS, including time as Remote Pilot in Command and a safe operating record
Ability to pass TSA vetting and a background check
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Availability for variable shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call
Preferred
Experience flying beyond visual line of sight, or a military UAS qualification
Long-range, fixed-wing, or VTOL experience
Commercial background in inspection, mapping, film, agriculture, or utilities
Comfort with mission-planning and ground-control software
Who does well here
People who take ownership, build relationships with the teams they work alongside, stay curious about hard problems, choose practical solutions, and keep sharpening their skills.
Physical requirements
This position requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting, loading, and carrying equipment and aircraft components weighing up to 50 pounds; moving aircraft and ground support equipment between launch sites and storage; and working outdoors for extended periods in variable weather. Candidates who need a reasonable accommodation to perform these functions are encouraged to contact People Operations before or after an offer of employment. Valkyrie will engage in an interactive process consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
