Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Recess Coach to supervise and engage students during recess periods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong background in sports, physical education, or childcare. This role is essential in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and positive behavior among students while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
Duties
- Supervise students during recess to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Organize and lead various recreational activities, including sports, games, and physical exercises.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all students.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among students.
- Provide guidance and support in activities such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, swimming, karate, judo, and other martial arts.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate physical education concepts into recess activities.
- Monitor equipment usage and maintain a safe play environment.
- Communicate effectively with students to promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
Requirements
- Experience working with students in an educational or recreational setting is preferred.
- Background in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable.
- Lifeguard certification or experience in swimming is a plus.
- Familiarity with various sports such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, karate, judo, and martial arts.
- Strong behavior management skills to effectively handle diverse student needs.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans for physical activities that cater to different skill levels.
- A passion for promoting health and fitness among children.
