The Role:

Why Does Your Role Matter?

Lectric eBikes combine high quality, rugged durability, and affordability while being insanely fun to ride. Our growth has been nothing short of electrifying, making us one of the fastest-growing electric bike companies in the U.S. Our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction is fueled by an incredible team and an exhilarating culture. And the best is yet to come.

We are looking for a full-time, in-person Program Manager to lead and coordinate hardware product development initiatives from early concept through production launch. This role will drive cross-functional execution across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing partners to ensure products are developed, validated, and delivered on schedule.

The ideal candidate has experience managing hardware development and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, understands the stages of product development and manufacturing readiness, and can navigate the complexities of working with international contract manufacturers.

In addition to core Lectric eBikes initiatives, this role will also support product development and project management for the Juiced and Monarc brands. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, an understanding of hardware manufacturing processes, and the ability to manage multiple complex programs in a fast-paced environment. International travel, including visits to manufacturing partners in Asia, will be required.

Essential Functions for this Role:

1. Hardware Product Development & NPI Execution

  • Lead hardware product development programs from initial concept and engineering development through validation, production readiness, and commercial launch.

  • Coordinate key New Product Introduction (NPI) milestones, including Engineering Validation Testing (EVT), Design Validation Testing (DVT), and Production Validation Testing (PVT).

  • Track engineering builds, prototype iterations, sample builds, and testing milestones to ensure products meet established specifications and launch timelines.

  • Coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and ensure product components and assemblies meet engineering and quality requirements before mass production.

  • Partner with engineering and sourcing teams to manage Bill of Materials (BOM) development, revisions, component readiness, and product changes throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Coordinate tooling development, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp-up activities with internal teams and external partners.

  • Support product certification and compliance milestones, including UL 2849 certification for applicable e-bike products.

2. Manufacturing & Supplier Coordination

  • Serve as a primary program management contact for contract manufacturers (CMs), factories, and external development partners.

  • Drive project timelines and deliverables with international manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment on engineering requirements, production schedules, and quality expectations.

  • Coordinate sample builds, engineering feedback, tooling readiness, and production trials with contract manufacturers.

  • Identify and proactively address manufacturing, supply chain, and production risks that could impact product development or launch timelines.

  • Travel internationally, including to Asia, to support factory visits, product development milestones, sample builds, and production readiness activities.

3. Project Planning & Execution

  • Define project scopes, develop comprehensive timelines, and create resource plans for product development initiatives.

  • Drive cross-functional planning efforts across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.

  • Evaluate and monitor project risks, identify dependencies, and develop contingency plans to keep programs on track.

  • Establish clear milestones, deliverables, and accountability across all project stakeholders.

  • Provide regular visibility into project status, risks, schedule variances, and resource needs.

4. Team & Communication Leadership

  • Serve as the lead communicator across internal departments, vendors, contract manufacturers, and external partners.

  • Facilitate weekly project updates, stakeholder meetings, and milestone reviews to ensure progress, accountability, and alignment.

  • Translate technical development milestones and manufacturing challenges into clear project updates and actionable next steps.

  • Foster a collaborative environment focused on clarity, responsiveness, and accountability.

5. Project Prioritization & Portfolio Management

  • Manage multiple concurrent hardware development programs, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, resource availability, and company objectives.

  • Ensure product launch targets and go-to-market deadlines are met by aligning teams around shared priorities.

  • Support the team in maintaining a dynamic portfolio of projects that align with company KPIs and product release schedules.

  • Identify resource constraints, competing priorities, and potential schedule conflicts across programs.

6. Process Development & Optimization

  • Champion continuous improvement within product development and NPI workflows, implementing process enhancements based on lessons learned and team feedback.

  • Establish and maintain standardized project management processes, documentation, and milestone tracking.

  • Mentor internal teams on Lectric's product development lifecycle, project management tools, and best practices.

  • Maintain project documentation, including timelines, BOM milestones, build schedules, risk registers, and development status reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional hardware product development or manufacturing programs.

  • Working knowledge of hardware product development lifecycles, including EVT, DVT, and PVT milestones.

  • Experience coordinating with contract manufacturers, overseas factories, or international manufacturing partners.

  • Familiarity with BOM management, tooling development, prototype builds, sample builds, and First Article Inspection processes.

  • Understanding of manufacturing readiness, production validation, and new product introduction (NPI).

  • Familiarity with product certification and compliance processes; UL 2849 experience is a plus.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex timelines.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Comfortable with international coordination, remote collaboration, and international travel.

  • Strong analytical mindset, with experience evaluating project ROI, resource requirements, and project-based financial models.

  • Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to manage product data, revisions, and workflows.

  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly to evolving priorities and project requirements.

  • Experience with project management software; Smartsheet or Jira preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in program management, hardware product development, New Product Introduction (NPI), or a similar role.

  • Experience in the bicycle, e-bike, consumer electronics, hardgoods, or consumer product manufacturing industries strongly preferred.

  • Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and overseas manufacturing facilities preferred.

  • PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.

  • Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds at times for product assessments or trade shows.

  • Domestic and international travel may be required 2–3 times per year.
