Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer plays a key role in measuring and analyzing data, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement of products, services, and processes. This position spends a significant portion of the workday in production and quality control areas and actively supports cross-functional corrective actions and continuous improvement projects across QA/QC, Process Engineering, and Production at site, intra-site, and corporate levels.

• Measure, analyze, and interpret quality-related data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to address product, process, and service quality issues.
• Support cross-functional corrective actions and continuous improvement projects in QA/QC, Process Engineering, and Production at site, intra-site, and corporate levels.
• Conduct audits of processes and products to ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and internal quality policies.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA, and root cause analysis methodologies to solve problems and improve processes.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and documents to support quality assessments and engineering decisions.
• Use quality management tools and software, including Minitab and MRP/ERP systems (SAP highly preferred), to analyze data and manage quality-related information.
• Demonstrate personal initiative and accountability by proposing creative and innovative solutions and actively driving improvement activities forward.
• Maintain awareness of and adhere to all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies related to the role.
• Comply with the companys safety policy at all times while working in production and QC areas.
• Comply with the companys quality policy at all times, ensuring consistent adherence to quality standards.
• Support and uphold ISO 9001, AS9100, cGMP, and applicable regulatory requirements such as 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR 210, and 21 CFR 211.

• Quality engineering experience with a minimum of 1 to 2 years in a Quality or Engineering role at a pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated manufacturer.
• Knowledge of quality and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, cGMP, 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR 210, and 21 CFR 211.
• Proficiency in auditing processes and products for compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents accurately.
• Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA, root cause analysis, corrective action, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience with quality management practices and systems.
• Ability to comply with safety and quality policies at all times.
• Ability to maintain awareness of all relevant SOPs and company policies related to the role.

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Biology, or Business.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience using Six Sigma tools.
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.
• Experience with Material or Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP or ERP) systems, with SAP highly preferred.
• Demonstrated personal initiative and accountability, with a track record of proposing creative and innovative solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive improvement activities forward.
• Solid understanding of quality management principles and ISO-based quality systems.

This role is primarily based in production and quality control areas within a regulated manufacturing environment, such as pharmaceutical or medical device facilities. The position requires up to approximately 10% travel, which may be up to 26 business days per year. The physical requirements are classified as medium, involving exerting up to 50 lb (22 kg) of force occasionally, up to 20 lb (9 kg) frequently, and up to 10 lb (4 kg) constantly to move materials or equipment as part of daily tasks. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jersey Shore, PA.

The pay range for this position is $31.81 - $31.81/hr.
