Reports To: Activities Director
Position Summary
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Full-Time Activities Aide to join our team! The Activities Aide helps create a positive, engaging, and meaningful environment for our residents by planning, preparing, and assisting with recreational and social activities that support their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, has a positive attitude, and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily activities and special events.
- Encourage resident participation in group activities and individual programs.
- Provide opportunities for socialization, recreation, creativity, and cognitive stimulation.
- Assist residents with activities based on their individual interests, abilities, and needs.
- Help decorate and prepare activity areas for holidays, celebrations, and special events.
- Escort or assist residents to and from activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming activity environment.
- Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Activities Director.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, dietary, and other departments to support resident care and quality of life.
- Treat all residents with dignity, respect, patience, and compassion.
Qualifications
- Enjoys working with older adults and making a positive difference.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, compassionate, creative, and dependable.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must meet applicable facility and employment requirements.
