Job Summary
- Our client in the Rankin area is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter / Structural Steel Detailer to support commercial construction projects through the preparation of shop drawings, field installation drawings, and project documentation.
- This position is ideal for someone with structural steel, steel deck, roof panel, wall panel, or related construction drafting experience.
What You Will Do
- Prepare detailed shop drawings for steel deck, accessories, and related products
- Create field installation drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop plan layouts and sectional details for commercial building structures
- Review project specifications and contract documents
- Verify project files and production documentation
- Check drawings and prepare cut lists from approved shop drawings
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and fabricators
- Communicate with customers regarding drawings and project specifications
- Assist with reviewing fabrication documents and bills of materials
- Participate in drafting and technical training programs
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of structural steel, steel deck, roof panel, wall panel, or related industry experience
- 2-5 years of drafting experience preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Understanding of construction documents and specifications
- General knowledge of math and trigonometry
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree in AutoCAD/Drafting preferred
