Are you looking for a meaningful role where your work directly impacts the lives of children? We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our team at Camber. In this role, you will do more than just prepare meals; you will provide the nutrition and care that helps children and adolescents in our residential treatment programs flourish.

At CMCO, we prioritize our people. We are proud to hold a Work Wellbeing score of 83, which ranks us in the top 1% of employers nationwide for workplace satisfaction and support.

Work Schedule and Flexibility

We are looking for team members for weekend shifts. We offer a fixed schedule within the hours of 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. We are open to candidates interested in working one day or both, and we offer both half-day and full-day options to fit your needs.

The Role

Operating in a setting similar to a small school lunchroom, you will prepare and serve recommended meals for children with behavioral health needs. Working under the supervision of the Operations Department and in conjunction with a Dietitian, you will be responsible for ensuring that food service is handled with the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare recommended meals for the children and adolescents in Camber’s care.
  • Arrange food and beverages on steam tables or coolers and prepare trays and mobile carts as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and practice safe food handling, preparation, and storage, including monitoring correct refrigeration temperatures.
  • Clean and sanitize utensils, cooking equipment, storage equipment, and serving areas daily.
  • Set up and break down tables as needed based on patient census or special events.
  • Model professional and courteous behavior to the children and adolescents being served.
  • Practice conduct that displays respect for all Camber colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, or veteran status.
What We Are Looking For
  • Education: Completion of at least 10th grade is required. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Licensure: A valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Experience: One to three months of experience or training in the food service industry, specifically in food preparation and storage.
  • Technical Comfort: The ability to use Windows-based software and email for internal communications.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written, to conduct official business.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience providing food service to children in a residential treatment facility or school setting is highly regarded.
