What you’ll do
- Own visual inspections on about 60% of finished product before shipmentyour signoff matters.
- Inspect structural MIG/GMAW welds with a dedicated focus on Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) quality.
- Perform and record Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) inspections on seismic and loadbearing components.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings to drive compliance.
- Confirm all welds meet specs, drawings, WPS requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Spot defects, collaborate with welders, supervisors, and production, and guide corrective actions.
- Reinforce proper welding procedures and inspection criteria across the process.
- Support production teams with practical, timely quality and inspection guidance.
What you bring
- AWS CWI certification (required).
- Significant experience inspecting structural steel welds.
- Knowledge of structural MIG/GMAW welding practices.
- Fluency in blueprint reading, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
