New Gig Solutions is partnering with a growing consumer protection law firm that is adding Multiple Michigan-licensed Associate Attorney to its team. The firm represents everyday consumers who have been harassed or misled by creditors and debt collectors, and the work makes a real difference in people's lives.

Here's what makes this role different: you work 40 hours a week, and that's it. There are no billable hour targets and no expectation of nights or extra hours to keep up. You get meaningful legal work and a home-based setup with a schedule that respects your time.

Position: Associate Attorney
Location: Remote / home-based (must live in or within commuting distance of Metro Detroit, MI)
Court: In-person court appearances in the Metro Detroit area as needed
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, no more
Bar Admission: Active Michigan Bar license required
Experience: 1+ year of law firm experience

About the Role

You'll manage your own Michigan caseload, handling a mix of consumer protection litigation and transactional matters. The role offers broad responsibility and plenty of variety. You'll work from home and stay connected with the firm's main office and team by phone, email, and Microsoft Teams.

What You'll Do

• Manage a steady, diverse caseload of Michigan consumer clients
• Keep clients informed and supported throughout their matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and agreements
• Negotiate with opposing parties to resolve and settle claims
• Research contract law and consumer law issues, from simple to complex
• Make court appearances in the Metro Detroit area as needed

What You Bring

• Active Michigan Bar license
• At least 1 year of experience at a law firm
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• High ethical standards and professional integrity
• Solid legal research skills (LexisNexis experience is a plus)
• Comfortable working independently from home while collaborating with a remote team
