About the Role: Transitions Day Support Services in Warsaw, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional I to join their team. Responsibilities:- Provide direct care and personal support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility
- Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
- Facilitate community integration, social skills development, and recreational activities
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all individuals served
- Respond appropriately to behavioral support needs and crisis situations
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to person-centered care
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state compliance requirements
