Electrical Design & Preconstruction Engineering Leads

Our client is seeking experienced Electrical Engineering Team Leads to support complex electrical design and preconstruction initiatives across major commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects. Opportunities are available in Dallas and Austin, Texas, for professionals with strong electrical engineering backgrounds, demonstrated technical leadership, and experience coordinating engineering deliverables across multidisciplinary project teams.

These positions encompass two complementary areas of responsibility: electrical design engineering and preconstruction power systems engineering. Depending on the assignment, successful candidates will lead engineering personnel, oversee electrical design development, evaluate technical requirements, and coordinate engineering activities during project planning and execution. Both opportunities require professionals capable of balancing technical accuracy, project schedules, resource allocation, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead electrical engineering personnel in the development, coordination, and review of technical deliverables for complex construction projects.
• Oversee electrical design activities or preconstruction engineering assignments, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Review electrical distribution systems, equipment selections, engineering calculations, and design documentation to identify technical concerns and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate engineering activities with project managers, construction teams, design consultants, and other technical stakeholders.
• Manage engineering workloads, resource allocation, schedules, and deliverable priorities to support project milestones.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance reviews for engineers and designers.
• Support project planning through engineering evaluations, constructability considerations, design coordination, and resolution of technical challenges.
• Monitor engineering performance, communicate project risks, and contribute to continuous improvement in technical processes and team execution.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Substantial professional experience in electrical engineering design, power distribution, or preconstruction engineering for complex commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineers or technical design teams, including assigning work, reviewing deliverables, and providing technical direction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, equipment applications, electrical engineering calculations, and relevant codes and standards.
• Experience coordinating engineering activities with multidisciplinary teams, construction personnel, and project stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing technical priorities, engineering schedules, and project deliverables while maintaining quality standards.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and guide engineering personnel.

• Eight or more years of relevant electrical engineering experience, particularly on complex construction projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams supporting large commercial developments, data centers, healthcare facilities, or industrial infrastructure.
• Background with an MEP consulting engineering firm, electrical contractor, or engineering and construction organization.
• Experience with electrical preconstruction activities, constructability evaluations, design development, or technical coordination during early project phases.
• Familiarity with engineering budgets, resource planning, quality assurance processes, and technical performance management.
• Experience using electrical design software, building information modeling platforms, or power systems engineering applications relevant to the assigned position.
