Child Watch Attendant - YMCA

As a Child Watch Attendant at the City Center YMCA (265 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster), you’ll power an upbeat, safety-first space where members’ kids can play while families work out. This part-time, onsite role runs 10–15 hours/week, primarily evenings (4:30–8:00 PM) and weekends (9:00 AM–3:00 PM), at $10–$12/hr.

You will:
- Provide direct supervision and positive guidance using basic discipline techniques
- Lead age-appropriate activities and support smooth transitions (clean-up, routines)
- Follow infection control/handwashing and emergency/fire safety protocols
- Complete incident reports and communicate clearly with families and staff
- Support basic janitorial and light maintenance tasks in the child watch area
- Act as a mandated reporter and follow child abuse prevention practices

Qualifications:
- Pediatric & Adult CPR/AED/First Aid (current or able to obtain)
- Mandated reporter/child abuse prevention training (current or able to obtain)
- PA state police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances
- Emotional maturity and strong communication
