This highly visible Controller position offers the opportunity to oversee financial operations, lead a team of accounting professionals, and work closely with senior leadership on key business initiatives. We're looking for an accomplished accounting leader who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach to financial management.
What You'll Do
- Lead corporate, property, and multi-entity accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, audits, and key financial initiatives.
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee accounting activities related to real estate investments, acquisitions, financing arrangements, and property operations.
- Strengthen internal controls and leverage real estate ERP systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Active CPA designation required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities.
- Strong background in real estate accounting, including property-level financial reporting and multi-entity accounting.
- Proven experience leading month-end close processes, financial reporting, and GAAP-based accounting activities.
- Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
- Hands-on experience with real estate ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI Software, Sage 300 CRE, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
