Job Summary
Merchants Package Store is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Part-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team!
We're looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent customer service, stays organized, and can be trusted to handle daily store responsibilities with minimal supervision.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a consistent weekday schedule in a customer-focused retail environment. Previous retail or liquor store experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, answer questions, and help them find the products they're looking for.
- Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle transactions accurately.
- Verify customer identification and follow all applicable alcohol sales laws and store policies.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain attractive product displays.
- Receive deliveries, organize inventory, and assist with restocking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
- Assist customers with carrying merchandise when needed.
- Work independently and as part of a team to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service during every interaction.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently work scheduled shifts.
- Comfortable handling cash and processing customer transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move cases of merchandise.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn about store products and procedures.
- Ability to meet all applicable legal age requirements for selling alcoholic beverages.
Preferred:
- Previous retail, convenience store, or liquor store experience.
- Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Previous cash handling or inventory management experience.
- Ability to work independently in a busy retail environment.
Schedule & Hours
- Position: Part-Time
- Shift: Day Shift
- Days: Weekdays
- Hours: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours
- Additional Hours: May be available during holidays, special events, and busy periods.
Reliable availability during the scheduled weekday day shift is required.
