General Laborer - Gutter Technician - Assistant

Upper West Exteriors is growing our new in-house gutter division, and we’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Gutter Technician Assistant to work alongside our Lead Gutter Technician.

This is a part-time to full-time opportunity based out of South Seattle, with the potential for hours and responsibility to grow as our gutter division expands.

This is a hands-on field position that requires comfort working from ladders, at heights, and with common construction hand tools and power tools.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade, work outdoors, and build a long-term career in exterior construction. You’ll assist with gutter fabrication and installation, jobsite setup, material handling, trailer organization, and other field-production needs.

The right person does not need extensive gutter experience. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, mechanically inclined, comfortable with physical work, and ready to learn.

• $25-$26.50/hour starting pay

• Part-time to full-time, with opportunity for increased hours as the division grows

Upper West Exteriors is a growing South Seattle-based exterior contractor specializing in roofing, gutters, siding, and exterior envelope work.

$25 - $26.50 hourly

• Make sure to follow all health and safety regulations to ensure you and your crew members don’t suffer any injuries
• Load, unload and prepare any tools or materials on site that will be used to complete the build, so the crew can operate efficiently
• Take away any remaining tools, trash, and building materials once construction is complete to ensure a clean work site
• Remove any trash, debris or hazardous materials from the area to prep the site before construction begins
• Support tradespeople and heavy equipment workers to complete the plumbing, electrical, roofing and any other aspect of the project

• Assist with installation of seamless gutters, downspouts, gutter guards, and related components

• Support the operation of our 5" and 6" seamless gutter machine

• Assist with measuring, fabrication, staging, and installation

• Load and organize materials, tools, and equipment

• Help maintain the gutter trailer and keep it clean and production-ready

• Assist with jobsite setup, property protection, and cleanup

• Work safely from ladders and around residential roofs

• Safely use common hand tools and power tools

• Support roofing and exterior production when gutter work is not scheduled

• Assist with material deliveries and general field work

• Follow direction from the Lead Gutter Technician and Operations team

• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite

• Learn Upper West Exteriors’ installation, quality, and safety standards

• Candidates who have experience using construction equipment such as forklift, power tools, and hand tools highly preferred
• Knowledge of basic engineering and construction laborer methods is preferred, but we will provide training
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, good balance, and have the physical strength to be able to do the work
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Needs to be good at following directions and complete tasks, both independently and on a team

• Valid driver’s license required

• Reliable and dependable with strong attendance

• Comfortable working at heights and using ladders safely

• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools

• Able to lift and carry construction materials and equipment

• Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions

• Construction, roofing, gutters, siding, exteriors, landscaping, warehouse, or general labor experience is a plus

• Experience towing trailers is a plus

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

• Basic mechanical aptitude

• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility
