Machine Technician/ Trainee
Livonia, Mi
Pay rate: $23-25/hr, will consider more for higher skills
Day shift hours: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM
Duties:

• Note: will be trained to read blueprints and use all tools required
• Must be able to inspect own work using measuring gages
• Making certain all parts meet customer and drawing requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Implement necessary tooling operations.
• Perform operations per print specifications.
• Self inspect work, burr and break edges and clean part of debris.
• Keep accurate time tickets, including job notes that may improve time or quality of the product.
• Perform daily maintenance on the ring coil machine.
• Follow safety procedures as required by company policy.
• Ability to operate fork lift – hilo (training offered)
• Posses basic computer skills
• When parts do NOT meet requirements, segregate and document them. Bring the issue to the attention of the Production Foreman.

Requirements:

• More than 1-2 years of general shop experience
• Ability to use general inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, parallel plates, gage pins, SPC charts
• Ability to read and understand Customer Specifications
• Ability to calculate using shop math.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance on machine and tooling

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a shop environment with moderate noise exposure.
• Requires standing and walking to move about the plant and office.
• Requires verbal and written communication to interact with other employees and Foreman.
• Requires ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
• Duties entail some visual strain resulting from close detail work and computer work.

This is a permanent position: 90 day contract to direct hire
