Description:Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, mobile cranes, and other rigging machinery to safely move oversized and heavy equipment within the yard.
- Perform pre-use inspections and routine maintenance checks on rigging gear and lifting equipment to ensure operational integrity.
- Load and unload heavy machinery and components from flatbeds, lowboys, and other specialized trailers.
- Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other rigging hardware in accordance with DOT and company standards.
- Assist with staging, blocking, cribbing, and positioning of equipment for transport preparation.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard environment.
- Strictly follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and heavy haul best practices.
Requirements:Qualifications- Prior experience in heavy haul, rigging, construction, or industrial yard operations required.
- Working knowledge of load securement principles and weight distribution.
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes (certification preferred).
- Strong understanding of safe lifting techniques and rigging hardware.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and performing manual labor as required.
Preferred Skills
- NCCCO certification (if crane operation is required).
- Experience with oversized load preparation.
- Familiarity with DOT load securement regulations.
