Commercial Lines Account Manager (Account Manager II)
Denver Tech Center area | Denver, CO 80237
Hybrid: in office Tuesday–Thursday; Monday and Friday optional work from home
Base salary: $75,000–$105,000+, based on experience | Annual bonus up to 9%
An established, independent insurance brokerage in Denver is hiring an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to take ownership of a growing book of business.
You'll step into an established book of mid-market commercial accounts (approximately 75 commercial accounts). It's a well-rounded, general commercial book, and the team is writing a lot of new business, so there's real momentum behind it.
An ideal candidate brings experience in commercial real estate/property coverages.
You'll work on a collaborative team of 10 that includes Account Managers, Account Executives, Team Leads and Producers. This is a tier II role for someone who has already managed their own commercial book and is ready to run one with a high degree of independence.
What You'll Do
- Own the day-to-day service of a book of about 76 commercial accounts, acting as the main point of contact for clients.
- Manage the full renewal cycle: gather exposures, prepare submissions, market accounts with carriers, compare quotes and present renewal proposals.
- Partner with Producers and Account Executives on new business, from submission and marketing through proposal and binding.
- Review policies, endorsements and certificates for accuracy, and process changes, audits and cancellations.
- Identify coverage gaps and round-out opportunities to grow existing accounts.
- Keep client files and the agency management system complete and current.
- Protect retention through proactive, responsive client service.
What You Bring
Required
- 5+ years in a commercial lines Account Manager or similar role at an independent agency or brokerage.
- Experience managing your own book of commercial business.
- Active Colorado Property & Casualty license, or the ability to obtain one quickly.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial coverages: property, general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella.
- Experience with renewals, carrier marketing and submissions.
- Proficiency with an agency management system (such as Applied Epic, AMS360 or Vertafore) and Microsoft Office.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage many accounts and deadlines at once.
- Willingness to work in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
Preferred
- Experience with real estate or commercial property accounts, such as habitational, property management or builders risk.
- Background at a regional or national brokerage.
- Industry designations such as CISR, CIC, AAI or CPCU, or progress toward one.
- Experience supporting a book that is actively writing new business.
Compensation and Schedule
- Base salary: $75,000–$105,000, based on experience.
- Bonus: Up to 9% annually, paid in December. Eligibility begins after 90 days, and the first year is pro-rated by months in the role. The bonus is based on round-outs, net book growth and retention.
- Schedule: Hybrid. In office Tuesday through Thursday; Mondays and Fridays are optional work-from-home days.
Why This Role
- A healthy, established book with steady new business, not a cleanup project.
- A bonus tied directly to results you control.
- A supportive team of 10 with Producers, Account Executives and Team Leads.
- Two flexible work-from-home days each week.
