Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the operation of food processing and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide variety of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure maximum equipment reliability and production uptime. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities, experience working in industrial manufacturing environments, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and food manufacturing standards.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain food processing and packaging equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair motors, gearboxes, drive systems, bearings, shafts, sprockets, sheaves, belts, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and mechanical power transmission components.
• Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems, sensors, switches, and general electrical components.
• Support equipment including filling and sealing machines, conveyors, bucket scales, robotics, hoists, sorters, labelers, scanners, roller beds, and utility and support systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
• Recommend and implement long-term corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Complete preventative maintenance work orders and maintain accurate records in the CMMS system.
• Generate parts requests and support spare parts inventory management.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings.
• Follow GMP, food safety, sanitation, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience or completion of a maintenance apprenticeship program, or an Associate's Degree in a maintenance-related field.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments, hand tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Food manufacturing, packaging, bottling, or high-speed production experience.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery, robotics, and automated equipment.
• Aircraft, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial repair experience.
• Exposure to mechatronics, automation, PLC-controlled equipment, or robotics.
• Welding experience (MIG and/or TIG).
• Sheet metal, fabrication, machine shop, or installation experience.
• Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.

The work environment is a busy facility that can be loud depending on the department. Floors may be wet, and employees are required to work in a warm to hot environment due to the machines, though it is not uncomfortable. Employees must adhere to a dress code that includes wearing steel-toed boots and GMP-compliant attire, with no jewelry, false nails, or false lashes. Employees will receive pants, shirt, and smock with their name on it.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfield, CA.

The pay range for this position is $81432.00 - $83512.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
