We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a team in a long-term contract capacity ONSITE in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This role is well suited for an accounting specialist who thrives in a large-company environment and brings strong expertise in general ledger activity, close processes, and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will contribute to core accounting operations, assist with consolidated reporting, and help maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage monthly and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are recorded accurately.
• Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger transactions, and supporting documentation for assigned accounts.
• Perform detailed account and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues promptly.
• Support intercompany accounting processes, including balancing transactions and coordinating with related entities.
• Assist with consolidation activities and contribute to the preparation of company-wide financial reporting.
• Partner with internal stakeholders in a shared services environment to maintain consistency and accuracy across accounting operations.
• Provide technical accounting support for complex general ledger matters and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to external reporting efforts, including quarterly and annual filing support such as 10-Q and 10-K preparation when needed.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in a large-scale organization, preferably within a shared services or similarly complex environment.
