About the role
A Fortune 1000 industry leader is hiring a Sales Arborist to own the tree care sales pipeline from prospecting to close. You will work with operations, finance, marketing and proposal teams to win bids and hit tree care sales targets. We are looking for a proactive, self-starting seller who enjoys working with customers and colleagues.
What you’ll do
- Sell and estimate tree care services in your regional territory.
- Prospect with a consultative approach, using phone outreach, sales presentations and web demos, and build lasting business relationships.
- Work with Landscape Maintenance Account Managers and the Branch Manager to build tree care programs and estimates for existing clients.
- Network to win new tree care accounts in your assigned vertical or target accounts.
- Handle contract negotiations with minimal supervision.
- Build trust-based relationships with key decision makers and communicate proactively with everyone involved in the decision.
- Plan your days, hit activity benchmarks, and log all activity in Salesforce.
- Collaborate with internal teams to pursue larger opportunities.
What you bring
- Face-to-face B2B selling experience at the mid-to-senior level, with 3–5 years of experience.
- A proven record of hitting sales goals in a longer sales cycle.
- Tree care industry certification (TCIA or Certified Arborist).
- Experience in the service industry with commercial contract sales is a plus.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across a large territory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. CRM or sales force automation experience is beneficial.
- Local knowledge and contacts in your market are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Competitive, positive, self-motivated and results-driven.
Physical requirements and work environment
- Mix of office, field and outdoor work, spending more than half your time away from the office selling.
- Able to travel by car, train and plane, and to walk uneven ground on job sites with clients for up to 4 hours.
- Regular computer and phone use.
