HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT
Automation Personnel Services is seeking aHuman Resource Assistantfor anon-profit organization servicing that Chattanooga community.The Human Resources Assistant will be the welcoming face and voice of the HR department, providing vital administrativesupport fordaily operations. This position manages personnel files, supports onboarding, assists with recruitment, and serves as a reliable point of contact for employee inquiries.
Pay rate
$19.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Up to 30 hours per week
Monday- Thursday 7:30am-4:00pm and Friday 7:30am-noon
Human Resource AssistantDuties and Responsibilities
- Welcome new hires, coordinate online onboarding and physical orientation, and ensure a seamless first-day experience.
- Maintain, audit, and securely update physical and digital employee records, including, but not limited to, attendance, performance tracking, and training logs.
- Post job openings, coordinate interview schedules, communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process, and assist with offer letters.
- Assist with annual benefits open enrollment.
- Assist with correspondence and organizing employee engagement events.
Human ResourceAssistant Qualificationsand Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate’s orBachelor’sdegree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in an administrative support or receptionist role (HR department experience is a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to handle private and sensitive data with strict discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a welcoming, collaborative attitude.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, stooping, bending, and phone use
