Structural Steel Fabricator

R&R Fabrication is hiring a Structural Steel Fabricator for our shop in Prince Frederick, Maryland. This is an on-site shop position focused on laying out, fitting, and fabricating structural steel assemblies from shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings, dimensions, weld symbols, and fabrication details.

• Lay out, measure, cut, drill, and fit beams, columns, plates, angles, channels, and other steel components.

• Fit and tack assemblies accurately before final welding.

• Use fabrication tools and equipment safely, including saws, drills, grinders, and cutting equipment.

• Check dimensions, alignment, squareness, and fit-up against drawings.

• Coordinate with welders and the shop foreman to keep work moving and resolve drawing or fit-up questions.

• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.

Qualifications

• Hands-on structural steel fabrication and fitting experience.

• Ability to work from shop drawings and take accurate measurements.

• Experience with steel layout, fit-up, tack welding, and shop fabrication tools.

• Attention to quality, dependable attendance, and clear communication.

• Ability to perform shop duties safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
