Quality Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support quality assurance efforts for a custom packaging manufacturer specializing in protective and industrial packaging solutions. This role focuses on ensuring that products such as precision-engineered foam inserts, heavy-duty wood crates, export-compliant pallets, custom corrugated packaging, and specialized cold-chain shipping solutions meet customer specifications and quality standards.

• Inspect corrugated boxes, wood crates, pallets, skids, foam inserts, and other packaging products for cosmetic appearance and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform in-process quality checks, first-piece inspections, and final inspections while documenting findings within the company's quality system.
• Utilize tape measures, barcode scanners, blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation to verify product specifications.
• Work closely with machine operators and production personnel to provide feedback on quality concerns and maintain high standards across manufacturing processes.

• Experience with quality inspection in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and production documentation.
• Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures and inspection equipment.
• Comfortable utilizing scanners and computer-based documentation systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

The facility operates on a 1st Shift from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and a 2nd Shift from 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime including Saturdays. Work is conducted in a non-climate-controlled production facility where required PPE includes steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Employees will spend most of the shift on their feet, interacting with multiple departments. New hires receive comprehensive training to understand products, equipment, and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Durham, NC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
